The island of Flores, in particular the port of Labuan Bajo, is the jump of point for the famous island of Komodo. I first visited this island over 20 years ago in 1998. Things have changed. No longer can you stay over; access is via day trip and a one hour fast boat transfer. We visited for half a day before returning to some late afternoon birding near Labuan Bajo.
